Grand Canyon Reuse Project · Fall 2026 Update

Building the Largest Reuse System in a U.S. National Park

We need $180,000 by Dec. 31, 2026, to break ground on schedule this spring.

Close to 5 million people visit Grand Canyon National Park every year, and 5 million single-use food and drink items are used for minutes, then trucked 145 miles to a landfill. Upstream is replacing that throwaway system with durable reusables that are returned, washed inside the park, and put back into service at 14 takeout and grab-and-go food locations on the South Rim. This isn’t a pilot — it’s a permanent change to how the park runs.
