IISD Winnipeg Reusable Cup Program: Sam’s Place

At the start of this project, Winnipeg did not have a returnable takeout program. To show proof of concept and bring a local program to Winnipeg, IISE partnered with Muuse, with support from Environment and Climate Change Canada. This report introduces the program and highlights a 2026 case study with the first local café to implement the reusable takeout program in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The findings highlight the challenges and successes for reuse in Winnipeg.
