StopWaste: Boulder Valley School District

Boulder Valley School District serves 30,000 students 12,000 meals daily in 56 schools spread over 500 square miles in Boulder Valley, Colorado. They eliminated recurring annual expenses of $4,500 for the purchase of 3,400 cardboard boxes for distributing beef patties and apples to school kitchens by purchasing 660 reusable plastic containers for apples and 366 lidded reusable tubs for beef patties with a $10,000 grant from StopWaste. Containers are returned to vendors, sanitized, and repacked.
