Celebrate local businesses providing us with reusable, refillable options

In honor of World Refill Day (recognized annually on June 16th), Upstream rolled out a campaign that any person, group, or community can launch at any time. The idea is to lift up, through social media, all the businesses that we can find who are offering their customers reuse and refill options, and to let businesses that aren’t offering reusables know that it will save them money, help the planet and is safe (and easy) to do so.

Join the #ReusableBlitz!

How can you get started?

  1. Visit businesses in your community and see whether they offer reusable or refillable options to their customers.

  2. Celebrate the reuseable-friendly businesses who are making these options available:

    • Take a photo of the business and/or with the business owner/staff (make sure to ask for permission first!).

    • Tag the business and include the hashtags: #WorldRefillDay, #WeWelcomeReusables and #ReusableBlitz

    • Post on your social media channels.

  3. For businesses who aren’t providing reusable or refillable options (yet), share more information about reusables – why they save businesses money and protect the planet and how they are safe even during a pandemic. Remember not to blame or shame them but to educate and inspire!
