Student Filmmaker for Environmental Documentary Project

Upstream, a nonprofit advancing reuse systems, is launching a groundbreaking documentary project at the Grand Canyon’s South Rim. Over the next two and a half years, we will be filming a series of short episodes and a full-length documentary, and we’re currently looking for a student filmmaker to assist with the first day of filming in early December—with potential for more on subsequent site visits. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a project of significant environmental impact, and comes with a day rate of $150.

The selected student will need to attend 2–3 brief Zoom meetings beforehand and be available for one full day of filming between December 3-5, 2024. Applicants must have their own filming equipment and be ready to be on their feet all day. If interested, please submit a reel or samples of your filming work (student projects are welcome), a brief letter detailing your experience with film or related courses, and any relevant social media handles (e.g., Instagram, LinkedIn) where your film work is showcased. Send your materials to derek@upstreamsolutions.org.

Applicants must be located near the Grand Canyon and have their own transportation.
