2023 Impact Report

Everything Upstream was able to accomplish in 2023—and all thanks to YOU.

Hello to our supporters, partners, Reuse Solutions Network members, Friends Network, and everyone joining us in accelerating the shift to a new reuse economy.

Please enjoy our 2023 Impact Report to see what Upstream and the reuse movement were able to accomplish over the year.

I want to personally thank you for such a warm welcome since I began my tenure as Upstream’s CEO in mid-August of 2023. I am thrilled to be able to bring my experience and learnings from my time leading Don’t Waste Durham and GreenToGo over the past 12 years to Upstream, an organization near and dear to my heart for many years. I have enjoyed both reconnecting and getting to know many of you in my new role. It will take all of us working together to realize our collective vision: moving beyond our linear throw-away economy to a truly regenerative, circular economy.

I also want to thank the Board of Directors and staff who have welcomed me with open arms and hearts - embracing new ideas and approaches so we can best leverage my hands-on experience to serve the reuse movement. Your leadership, talent, and creativity help us to meet the moment together.

Here’s to an even bigger 2024.

All the very best,

Crystal Dreisbach, Upstream CEO

“Upstream has been such a massive source of inspiration and validation for me, and the reuse world is where I’m hoping to put most of my energy going forward. The Government Reuse Form truly helped me survive the challenging process of getting our single-use item regulation across the line!”
